Our Story

Saronia: From Roots to the Plate
The name Saronia carries a story — one rooted in the heart of Kinidaros, a village of Naxos known for its vivid folk heritage and fertile land. Its people, once called “Saronades,” were broom makers, weaving saronies from wild reeds and selling them across the island. The old saying “forty saronies, forty dimes” reflects the spirit of self-reliance and respect for nature’s abundance.
This very spirit inspires our cuisine. We select only the finest local ingredients — herbs, edible flowers, vegetables, and premium Naxian products — and transform them into refined culinary expressions.
Saronia is taste born from tradition, a tribute to our island roots reimagined for today. From the soil to the soul of every dish, we serve the essence of Naxos with elegance.
A fresh beginning with deep roots
Saronia was created with a simple but heartfelt goal: to share the culinary soul of Kinidaros with the world. With respect for Naxos’s natural ingredients and a deep connection to our village heritage, we’ve built a warm, welcoming space that celebrates refined, soulful dining.
We may be new, but our roots run deep — in family recipes, in island wisdom, and in the rhythm of a kitchen that values seasonality, simplicity, and truth. Every plate is a story from our land, served with pride and care.

Our Promise
We trust only producers who share our passion for freshness, sustainability, and authenticity.
The Menu & Our Philosophy
At Saronia, the menu is a refined homage to the flavors of Naxos — shaped by tradition, elevated with artistry. Each dish is thoughtfully composed, where every element has a purpose: the aroma of wild herbs, the softness of handmade dough, the brightness of an edible flower.
We collaborate closely with local producers and small-scale artisans to source seasonal, pure ingredients — honoring the natural richness of the island. Our kitchen celebrates simplicity, but every plate carries layers of craftsmanship and care.
This is not just food. It’s a sensory experience, a quiet celebration of Naxian hospitality, meant to be shared — slowly, beautifully, and with intention.
